APL Shamanic Journeys describes itself as a retreat-center facilitating traditional plant-medicine experiences, primarily focused on ceremonies with Ayahuasca under guidance of indigenous shamans and support from Western-trained facilitators. Their stated aim is to combine ancestral Amazonian traditions with modern integration support — offering a structured retreat environment rather than clinical psychotherapy or medical treatment.

Service

APL Shamanic Journeys offers multi-day Ayahuasca retreats held in Europe (Spain) and in South America (Peru), with programmes varying in length depending on location. Their retreats include guided Ayahuasca ceremonies led by Peruvian shamans, as well as preparatory work prior to the retreat — including an online preparation course — and post-retreat integration support (group or individual integration sessions, access to a broader integration community platform). Additional optional supportive offerings may include massage, sound-bath sessions, or other supportive activities depending on the retreat. The center emphasises small group settings (around 17 participants) with multiple facilitators and supports use of traditional ceremonial practices combined with modern integration guidance.

Safety

Before participation, every guest is required to complete a detailed medical questionnaire; participation is only confirmed after review by the team. APL Shamanic Journeys notes that they are not a medical or psychiatric facility and do not provide emergency mental-health services; their retreats are intended for personal growth, reflection and spiritual exploration, not for treatment of mental-health disorders. They recommend that individuals consult their healthcare provider if they have existing physical or mental health conditions, or take medications. The centre’s facilitators are described as trauma-informed, some holding academic qualifications in psychology or related therapeutic modalities to support integration. The retreat rules include a pre-retreat diet and restrictions on food, drugs, and other behaviours, aimed at minimizing risks associated with Ayahuasca.

Care pathway

The booking process begins via an online form where prospective participants select retreat dates and submit a deposit. Once booked, participants receive a medical questionnaire that must be completed within two days; only after approval of this screening is the booking confirmed (deposit refunded if not approved). Before the retreat, participants gain access to an online preparation course covering tradition, diet, ceremony process, and safety guidelines. After the retreat ceremony, integration begins: participants are offered at least one follow-up group call (included in the retreat cost) and may request additional individual integration sessions. Participants also have the option to join a community-platform membership for ongoing group support, resources, and guided integration work.
